After being struck by the historic typhoon "Ondoy", AKA "Ketsana"
internationally on September 26, 2009 and by "Pepeng" AKA "Parma" on
October 3, 2009, 26 provinces have been put under the state of calamity.
Over 500,000 people have been affected. The death toll is over 850, people
are still missing, injured and many are still in need of immediate food
and medical attention.
As if these two typhoons were not enough trauma, many Filipinos are facing
another typhoon named "Ramil" AKA "Lupit" which is currently heading
towards the northern part of Luzon. From what is being reported, the
Philippines will undergo a total of 5 more typhoons before the end of this
year.
